What is the eligibility for expedition?
The eligibility for the expedition are as follows:
- You must have completed at least one year of university education.
- You must be fluent in verbal and written English
- You should be having a valid Indian passport
- If any health conditions, you MUST mention in your application along with the medications involved
Does the program have a cost?
Yes, the expedition’s program cost is ₹99.9k (excluding GST). Once selected, all delegates need to pay the fixed cost (depending on scholarship) + taxes.
Can I get a scholarship?
Yes certainly! We offer a number of scholarships between ₹20,000 and ₹40,000 based on merit and means. The application requires submission of a video essay for the same. Details are available on the application page.
What expenses will be borne by me, apart from the program cost?
Delegates need to bear the cost for visa application, international airfare from the place of residence to Singapore and back.
All other expenditures not included in the programme, druing the World Governance Expedition, are to be borne by the delegates.
What is covered in the program costs?
Program cost includes the follwing:
- Meals – Indian/Multicuisine. In case you have any food allergies/prohibitions, you MUST mention in your application form.
- Accommodation on twin sharing basis for the entire duration of the programme in Singapore
- Local travel passes for public transportation – Bus/Train/Ferries – in Singapore
- Merchandise and Delegate kit, Course material, tickets and passes for project visits in Singapore.
How will I get a visa?
You have to follow the procedure to apply for a Singapore visa. More details can be found here. If selected, delegated need to pay the confirmation fee, following which they will receive information about the visa application process. We provide a confirmation letter which you can include in the purpose of the visit while obtaining the visa.
All delegates will be required to pay a visa fee (application fee + service fee). The programme cost does not cover visa fee.
Is their a refund policy for the programme?
In case you are selected, you are eligible for a refund of 40% if you inform by 20th October 2019 and 10% if you inform by 25th October 2019. We will not be able to refund for any cancellation after this date. Please note that the registration amount of ₹30,000 is non-refundable, and the percentage refund will be applicable to the rest of the amount only.
How to plan the travel?
The program starts and concludes in Singapore. The exact time will be intimated to selected candidates in due time. Delegates are free to plan their journeys around the expedition dates at their discreetion.
Selected delegates will receive information on visa, flight bookings, advisory on luggage and other relevant items once they confirm their participation. We will connect the selected delegates with each other so that they can plan to travel together if they wish.
I can’t get a holiday for a week. What to do?
WGE is an intensive learning program. If you are a university student/working professional who needs permission to take a week long leave, we can write to the authorities with program details. If you need our help in obtaining a leave for the program, please send a separate mail to email@example.com after you apply for the expedition.
The request letter we send to the university is contingent on your selection for the expedition.
I do not have an Indian passport but I live in India. Can I apply?
Unfortunately, only Indian passport holders are eligible for this visit. This means you need to be an Indian citizen.
Will I get a certificate for the program?
Yes, selected delegates will receive a certificate after successful completion of the expedition. Certification is subject to the performance of the delegate during the expedition. The decision of the VIF team, with regards to this will be final and binding.
I have family/friends in Singapore. Can I meet them during the expedition?
We will follow a busy schedule during the day time. Delegates will have some free evenings, when they can leave the group at their own discretion.
