What is the eligibility for expedition?

The eligibility for the expedition are as follows:

  1. You must have completed at least one year of university education.
  2. You must be fluent in verbal and written English
  3. You should be having a valid Indian passport

Does the program have a cost?

Yes, the expedition’s program cost is ₹1.65Lacs (excluding GST). Once selected, all delegates need to pay the fixed cost (depending on scholarship) + taxes.

Can I get a scholarship?

Yes certainly! We offer a number of scholarships between ₹20,000 and ₹60, 000 based on merit and means. The application requires submission of a video essay for the same. Details are available on the application page.

What expenses will be borne by me, apart from the program cost?

Delegates need to bear the cost for visa application, domestic travel from the place of residence to New Delhi and back. The programme cost ONLY includes expenditure borne during the programme dates i.e. July 8 -15  2019.

What is covered in the program costs?

Program cost includes international airfare, all meals, accommodation, merchandise, course material, domestic travel in Russia, event tickets etc during Russia

How will I get a visa?

You have to follow the procedure to apply for a Russian visa. More details can be found here. We provide a confirmation letter which you can include in the purpose of the visit while obtaining the visa.

All delegates will be required to pay a visa fee  (application fee + service fee). The programme cost does not cover visa fee.

What if I do not get the visa?

The expedition has partnered with numerous public officials and organizations in Russia for the visit. Therefore, it is unlikely that one does not get a visa unless there are other issues with the passport, criminal check etc.

In case you are selected, you will pay a non-refundable registration amount of ₹20,000. The last date to complete the payment will be communicated in the selection mail. We understand that you want to make sure you have a visa before completing the payment. Therefore, it is advisable to start the visa process ASAP.

What is the refund policy?

In case you are selected, you are eligible for a refund of 50% if you inform by 30th May 2019 and 20% if you inform by 10th June 2019. We will not be able to refund for any cancellation after this date. Please note that the registration amount of ₹20,000 is non-refundable, and the percentage refund will be applicable to the rest of the amount only.

How to plan the travel?

The program starts with the morning breakfast and expedition workshop and concludes again with a dinner at Moscow, after which the delegation will arrive at New Delhi

We will connect the selected delegates with each other so that you can plan to travel together if you wish.

You will receive advisory on luggage and other relevant items after selection.

I can’t get a holiday for a week. What to do?

WGE is an intensive learning program. If you are a university student/working professional who needs permission to take a week long leave, we can write to the authorities with program details. If you need our help in obtaining a leave for the program, please send a separate mail to wge@visionindiafoundation.com after you apply for the expedition.

The request letter we send to the university is contingent on your selection for the expedition.

I do not have an Indian passport but I live in India. Can I apply?

Unfortunately, only Indian passport holders are eligible for this visit. This means you need to be an Indian citizen.

Will I get a certificate for the program?

Yes, selected delegates will receive a certificate after successful completion of the expedition.

I have family/friends in Russia. Can I meet them during the expedition?

We will follow a busy schedule and you will not be permitted to leave the group at any time.
