The Bharat Sabbatical

The Bharat Sabbatical (TBS), is an eight-week immersive programme for the young Indian diaspora community, offering them a unique window to experience and understand India – Bharat.

The Indian diaspora community, at approximately 17.5 million, is the largest diaspora group in the world. Many leaders in domains of academia, politics, governance, culture and business hail from the Indian diaspora community.

25 delegates will be introduced to Indian culture and civilizational knowledge, and, institutions and processes of good governance. In doing so, TBS delegates will inculcate a multicultural and socioeconomic understanding of India, which would empower them to represent India’s strategic interest and civilizational strengths to the world.

These diaspora youth as future leaders would be equipped to addressing global challenges underlined in the UN Sustainable Development Goals of 2030 through an innovation-driven approach, a hands-on experience of public policy and a cultural understanding of India.
