Abhishek Modak is presently engaged with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DAR&PG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (M/oPPG&P), Government of India. The project involves scale-up of 3 projects across the country in interested States/UTs, namely, Madhya Pradesh State Pension Portal, Surat Geographical Information System (GIS) and the Mysore Intelligent Transport System (ITS) which have won National Awards on e-Governance. Subsequent to visiting the 3 project locations, preparation of reports & 2 Video Conferences with the Secretaries of Administrative Reforms, Information Technology & other concerned departments of all States/UTs, the task ahead is to successfully organize a Workshop with all stakeholders, collaborate, coordinate & communicate with the Chief Secretaries and Secretaries of concerned Departments in the State Governments for successful replication of the project & with Central Government line ministries for financial assistance to the States/UTs for these projects.

Abhishek hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. He is a Commerce Graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata wherein he undertook an independent research project on Political Funding by corporates and compliance with the statutes. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant during which he spent 3 years in the Assurance LoS of Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) working for various clients in the jute, steel, cement, beverages, print media, energy & NBFC sector. He has been an RTI enthusiast from his college days and has done an Online Course on the subject from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) followed by an internship in a Public Authority in West Bengal. Not only has he filed several RTIs, but also several public awareness sessions on RTI & Public Grievances in West Bengal.
